Mendocino Art Center Weaving Retreat/Workshop

Join us!   August 12 – 14, 2016

For the last few years I’ve loved teaching here. I have the opportunity to return again in a few weeks to teach a three-day class. Students at all levels of weaving and art experience are welcome. Students can come to be introduced to a completely new craft, or they can have time and space to deepen their skills and learn new techniques.

Mendocino is a charming coastal town 150 miles north of San Francisco. Ten miles north is Fort Bragg, a fishing and former logging town, with a lovely botanical garden.

As you enter the Art Center, a path takes you through lush gardens filled with whimsical and beautiful mosaics, tiles, and ceramics. Inside is a shop and galleries. Past the back deck are studios for ceramics, drawing and painting, and textiles.

The weaving studio is light-filled, with windows on all sides, and quiet – perfect for focused work.

Welcome!

With so much excitement recently in the tapestry community, I’ve been inspired to start my own blog.

I plan to share all sorts of things related to tapestry and art, including:

  • exhibitions that include my work
  • classes and workshops I will be teaching
  • student work
  • art that inspires me
  • current tapestry and textile events

To start off with, I’m thrilled to be part of Tapestry Weavers West’s current exhibition in San Francisco, “Elemental Tapestry.”

Also, Rebecca, one of my private students, just completed her beautiful tapestry, inspired by her cat, Isabelle. We had a wonderful cutting-off celebration to honor her hard work over the past year.Rebecca, Isabelle, cartoon
